Viator, the world's leading experiences marketplace, needed authentic destination content at global scale. The challenge: 50+ destinations, dozens of experience categories, and a content team that couldn't scale fast enough to keep up with demand. The solution: Social Native's fully managed creator program.
The Challenge
Travel content is uniquely difficult to produce at scale. Authentic destination photography and video requires creators who are actually in the destination — which means coordinating with local creators across dozens of markets simultaneously. Viator's internal team could manage a handful of markets at a time, but scaling to 50+ destinations required a fundamentally different approach.
The additional complexity: travel content has a short shelf life. Destination trends change, seasonal content needs to be refreshed, and new experiences need to be featured as they're added to the platform. Viator needed a content engine, not a one-time production run.
The Social Native Approach
Social Native's managed creator sourcing identified and activated local creators in each of Viator's target destinations — creators with authentic knowledge of the destination and existing audiences in the target demographic. All creator outreach, contracting, and rights clearance was handled by Social Native's operations team, with no Viator headcount required.
Content was licensed for multi-channel use from the point of creation — enabling Viator to use the same creator content across organic social, paid media, email, and on-platform experience listings. The perpetual licensing model meant the content continued to generate value long after the initial activation.
The Results
Viator scaled creator content across 50+ destinations without adding a single creator manager to their team. Content volume increased significantly, cost per piece of content decreased, and engagement rates on creator content outperformed Viator's existing brand-produced content across all channels.
The multi-channel licensing strategy proved particularly valuable: creator content running across paid social and on-platform experience listings generated measurably higher booking conversion rates compared to professional photography.
